Heaven Bound – Lindsay Schmidt
April 5, 2019

In thinking and praying about what this blog should be for this week, heaven came to mind and I thought ‘what is better than the topic of heaven?’ Everyone has ups and downs in their lives and all of us face different ones. We have different battles we all face on a daily basis. We may feel lost at times, forgotten, like we are drudging through day-to-day not knowing where we are going, but God knows. He sees where we are. He comes to us in our light and in our darkness and tries to remind us what He created us for.

This life, these seconds, minutes, hours…this is but a tiny fraction of eternity. However, what we do here matters greatly. It matters so much that God appoints people to wear His light in order to steer others in the right direction. The direction that leads to an eternity with Him. What direction are you going? Where are you on the map of eternity today? Right this very second? We can get caught up in this life here on earth. It’s easy to. There so much to distract. It’s normal to forget at times. In our hearts, our souls, it remains. The truth about eternity and where we will spend it.

I am wearing God’s light. I am a willing vessel that took on God’s holy spirit so that I can reach as many as I can. It was a choice that I made. I chose God. His path. And daily I choose again and again to follow Him. He will lead me to an eternity inside heaven’s gates. Because of this choice, I take on a burden for souls. Those who do not know God or the truth. This is a heavy burden to carry, but God is my guidance, strength, and comforter. I write in order to be a help. To shine my light in the way that I know best.

Heaven’s path is narrow. It says in Matthew 7:13-14, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. It is easy to live the life you choose. Very few will choose to give up their own desires in order to chase after the desires of God. But in choosing Him over ourselves, we can live the life we were created for. With the voice of God leading us, His light shining within us, the truth (the bible) giving us guidance daily, we can’t lose. The decision is ours to make. To take others along this narrow path with us is what we were created to do. Heaven is the end result and life is the journey to it.

There is a song that says “soon and very soon we are going to see the King.” This is simply a beautiful reminder that this life will not go on forever. We will meet our King and maker and it will happen sooner than we think. Today is the day to decide to give up ourselves in order to see heaven one day very soon. Though not everyone will choose the right path, our duty while on Earth is to reach out. Touch someone life today and then do it again tomorrow and the next day. Do it daily. Don’t let life so fog your vision that you forget where you are heading. Let your goal be to reach out to everyone you meet with the truth that will get them to heaven. Because whether we believe it or not soon and very soon we are going to see the King.

Colossians 3:1-4 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

He gives us Roots so we can Fly. Roots and Wings.
