Not Just a Fairy Tale

Probably everyone has read or heard a fairy tale at some time in their lives. Fairy tales are, for the most part, wonderful stories that give a moral message. But that is all that it is, a fairy tale. Although they may have a moral principle they cannot teach us about God. Fairy tales come from the imagination of a person. They are written and told for our pleasure and entertainment. No one can ever build a life upon a fairy tale. If we try to learn about God from these fairy tales thinking that because they are moral stories they teach us about God, we will be led astray.

The only way we can learn about God and His nature is from the Bible. The Word of God is the only place that we can find God revealed.

One of the greatest gifts that God has given to mankind is the Bible. How can God communicate with His children if they do not read His Word and let Him talk to them through it? How can He give them the answers that they desire for their lives, if they do not seek His face, not only in prayer, but in the pages of the Bible? Every answer that we get in prayer should line up with what the Word of God says. God is not the only one who is speaking to the hearts of men today, the devil goes about seeking whom he may devour and convinces many that his lies are true. This is why it is so important for us to read, study and know our Bible. Don't just carry it to church and take it home and never pick it up until church time again. We need to read it and study it and let God speak to us through it.

In this present dispensation we use the name of Jesus in everything we do. We pray, we believe, we receive miracles, we repent, and we are baptized and receive the Holy Ghost all in Jesus' name. But the Bible says that God has placed such a high priority on the Word that He has exalted it even above His name. "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." (Psalms 138:2) The Bible is not just a fairy tale with a good moral for us to follow, but the very Words of God written to each of us. Shouldn't we take advantage of the marvelous gift that God has given to us?
